As part of the "Blockchains for facilitating trade and enhancing competitiveness” project, which brings together the five UN Regional Commissions, ESCWA organized on 29 and 30 April a regional workshop for member States officials.
The workshop highlighted the importance of blockchain technology and practical applications in trade facilitation. It also focused on identifying opportunities and potential benefits of adopting this technology in the Arab region and raising awareness among stakeholders.
The workshop also contributed to building the capacity of customs officers and trade officials from member States to use and localize this technology in the trade facilitation process.
