Macro-Fiscal Modelling and Forecasting Tool for Jordan - User manual

July 2025

The Macro-Fiscal Modelling and Forecasting tool enhances government capacity for evidence-based policymaking by enabling robust policy simulations and forecasting of growth and fiscal outcomes. Developed under a joint ESCWA–DESA initiative, the tool offers a dynamic interface for simulating medium-term macroeconomic scenarios, particularly those related to fiscal space, social expenditure and debt sustainability.

This user manual provides a comprehensive guide to the structure and application of the tool, including model equations adapted from the United Nations World Economic Forecasting Model and customized for Jordan. It enables policymakers to conduct scenario analysis, assess policy impacts, and enhance the effectiveness of national development strategies.
