January 2026
The present manual provides a comprehensive guide to better understand the structure and application of the Macro-Fiscal Modelling and Forecasting (MFMF) tool, developed by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) under a joint project for targeted member States. It presents equations of the underlying model, adapted from the United Nations World Economic Forecasting Model and customized for Tunisia.
This MFMF tool offers decision makers an accessible and dynamic interface for evaluating macroeconomic policy scenarios in a medium-term debt-to-GDP stabilization framework, supporting growth-enhancing social expenditures while maintaining macroeconomic stability and debt sustainability.
