Integrated catchment management
Definition:
a subset of environmental planning which approaches sustainable resource management from a catchment perspective recognizing the central role of water as a critical resource and of catchments as a source of water. Integrated catchment management takes into account the relationships within catchment ecosystems and their role in supporting flora and fauna, the soils, the biosphere and the atmosphere, providing services to human societies, and regulating the human environment.
