Definition:

1. Issue of securities in exchange for debt. The Bank has used it to specifically refer to "the packaging and selling of a pool of creditor risks in the form of a security". The tendency on financial markets to make greater use of securities, i.e. firms issue securities rather than borrow directly from banks.
