ESCWA is organizing a two-day regional conference to discuss the opportunities and challenges of creating inclusive employment and entrepreneurship ecosystems for persons with disabilities in the Arab region.
Day 1 features the launch of the “Arab Inclusive Employment and Entrepreneurship Compact”, in cooperation with the International Labor Organization. The Compact encourages interested companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, and other entities to become disability inclusive workplaces.
Day 2 is dedicated to the 11th session of the Intersessional Group of Experts on Disability (IGED) bringing together related governmental focal points working on the inclusion and economic empowerment of persons with disabilities in the Arab region.
The meeting is an opportunity to share best practices and policies supporting the inclusion of persons with disabilities in employment and entrepreneurship, as well as to present case studies from the Arab region and other countries with the aim of promoting South-South dialogue and knowledge exchange.
