As part of national and regional efforts to promote gender equality, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait and ESCWA brought together around 25 participants from 9 to 13 November to discuss the situational analysis on Kuwaiti women, prepared by the Commission, and explore ways to strengthen national capacities to develop an evidence-based participatory national action plan.
Participants included representatives from the National Committee for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, relevant government entities, the Central Statistical Bureau, and the ministries of justice, health, education, labour, and social affairs.
They also took part in a workshop on “Global Indicators for Strengthening National Policies to Advance the Status of Women” and laid the groundwork for a national roadmap to improve Kuwait’s performance in global indicators and align with the Sustainable Development Goals and Kuwait Vision 2035.
