Yemen Vision for Recovery and Development: A framework for planning and execution

July 2025

As part of its efforts to support development in the Arab region, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) launched the “Vision for Recovery and Development in Yemen” initiative, in response to the ongoing conflict in the country. The initiative aims to develop a national vision for sustainable recovery and development through a broad-based technical dialogue that brought together experts and representatives of various segments of the Yemeni society.

Discussions focused on four key pillars: economic development, social cohesion, governance and the rule of law, and the environment. The dialogue resulted in guiding principles, priorities and strategies that serve as a reference framework for policymakers and development partners to build a prosperous future for Yemen.
