United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO)
Was established in 1966 to act as the central co-ordinating body for industrial activities and to promote industrial development and co-operation at the global, regional, national and sectorial levels. In 1985, UNIDO became the 16th specialised agency of the United Nations, with a mandate to help develop scientific and technological plans and programmes for industrialisation in the public, co-operative and private sectors.
