This national workshop, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development in Oman, aims to facilitate a discussion with national stakeholders on the key findings of a national assessment on the status of women in Oman.
The workshop focuses on identifying priority areas that serve as the foundation for developing the first National Action Plan for the Advancement of Omani Women.
In collaboration with the Department of Women’s Affairs at Oman’s Ministry of Social Development, ESCWA facilitated a workshop held in Muscat from 8 to 10 September.
The workshop created a space for participants to reflect on the status of women in Oman and to explore the key priorities needed to strengthen women’s advancement and bring together national efforts in this field, as part of the preparations for the country’s first National Action Plan for the Advancement of Women.
Around 40 participants took part, representing a wide range of national institutions—from ministries and official bodies to associations, civil society organizations, and trade union-enriching the discussions with diverse perspectives and experiences.
