Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening of the Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works (MMPW) Project - Seminar on Financial Management and Internal Audit
Target Group: 16 decision makers from major Iraqi ministries and public institutions
Expected outputs: Establishing and corroborating the Situation Analysis of the Iraqi Public Sector
Within the "Capacity Building of the Iraqi Public Sector Management - NCCMD", a project implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) - Iraq and the Iraqi National Center for Consultancy and Management Development (NCCMD), the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing a four-day Consultative Meeting from the 28 till 31 of March in Amman, Jordan, with the aim of reaching consensus on the current status of the Iraqi Public Sector, its needs and limitations.
The meeting will gather 17 NCCMD representatives and prominent decision makers from Iraqi ministries and public institutions who will be involved in developing a unified vision of the Iraqi Public Sector and corroborating the results of this exercise. The Consultative Meeting will focus on gathering accurate and objective information on the Iraqi Public Sector through brainstorming sessions and identifying the needs and limitations using a SWOT analysis approach, which would in turn lead to the confirmation of the Situation Analysis and identification of priority areas for improvement and reform.
The outcome of the meeting will not only be used as basis for the development of a comprehensive strategic plan for the National Center for Consultancy and Management Development (NCCMD) but also as a platform for an overall public sector reform strategy.
