Designing inclusive policies to reduce multidimensional inequality in Tunisia

This workshop is being organized in support of national efforts to develop more inclusive and equitable policies aimed at reducing multidimensional inequalities and enhancing coordination among relevant stakeholders to achieve the SDGs and ensure that no one is left behind. 

The workshop objectives include:

• Enhancing participants’ understanding of multi-dimensional equality and its various social, economic and political dimensions, and highlighting the principle of social justice and its importance in the Arab region.
• Reviewing requirements for promoting equality, exploring different measurement methods, identifying the population groups most vulnerable to multidimensional inequality in Tunisia, and discussing the role of governments and stakeholders in mainstreaming equality to ensure no one is left behind.
• Enhancing participants’ understanding of how to design inclusive, evidence-based development policies that respond to national needs.
• Facilitating consultations and knowledge exchange among policymakers and national experts on effective policy solutions to address inequality, with the aim of benefiting from global and regional experiences and adapting them to the Tunisian context.

The workshop brings together policymakers, officials, and national experts involved in the formulation and implementation of national plans, policies, and programmes. These participants are members of the recently established National Working Group on Equality, which aims to support the integration of multidimensional equality principles into public policy.
