The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait, in partnership with ESCWA, is convening a national workshop dedicated to the integration of disability considerations into governmental institutions. This workshop focuses on the application of the “Tool for Mainstreaming Disability Issues in Government Institutional Work,” which has been adapted by ESCWA from the United Nations Disability Inclusion Strategy (UNDIS) for application within government entities in the Arab region.
The tool encompasses fourteen performance indicators organized under four key pillars: leadership and strategic planning & management, inclusion for all, programming, and institutional culture. It serves as the foundation for the development of an institutional action plan for a designated government entity.
Additionally, the workshop aims to enhance the capacity of the Permanent National Committee for Preparing Reports and Following-up on Human Rights Recommendations in matters related to disability. Participants include representatives from relevant ministries as well as members of the Permanent National Committee.
