ESCWA, in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), is conducting a national advanced training workshop on macro-fiscal modelling and forecasting for Tunisia.
The training aims to enhance the capacity of policymakers in Tunisia by increasing their preparedness to use macroeconomic forecasts and simulations, helping to inform better decisions on financing social expenditures and the SDGs. This would ensure alignment with national priorities and would provide policymakers with access to the macro-fiscal modelling and forecasting tool, including the user-friendly interface.
The training focuses on understanding macro-fiscal modelling using the example of the extended single-country World Economic Forecasting Model and its applications for policymaking.
