As part of the "Capacity Building of the Iraqi Public Sector Management" project, implemented in partnership with UNDP Iraq, ESCWA will hold a Meeting on the Framework for Management Development in Iraq on 21-23 March 2009 in Beirut, Lebanon. It is expected that the meeting will build upon the conclusions and outcomes of the Stakeholders Meeting scheduled on 15 March 2009 in Baghdad, Iraq, which involves the active participation of major public sector stakeholders concerned by public sector development, and aims to identify the needs and priorities of the public sector.
Under the auspices and guidance of an Institutional Development Expert, the meeting will gather 10 decision makers from the National Center for Consultancy and Management Development (NCCMD) who will have as primary task to adopt a strategy for the NCCMD that would contribute to the development of the public sector. Through this initiative, ESCWA will support the NCCMD to better address the needs and shortcomings of the public sector through a focused and results-oriented strategic plan.
