As part of a series of workshops to "modernize price data extraction with the Automatic Price Collection Tool", and in response to a renewed request from the National Statistical Office of Qatar, ESCWA is organizing an advanced capacity-building workshop in Doha to further strengthen the country’s technical capabilities in automated price data collection.
The training aims to rebuild and expand institutional knowledge, equipping the new statistical office staff with the latest version of the Automatic Price Collection Tool (APCT).
Over the course of four days, participants explore the upgraded functionalities of APCT, learn to design and adapt its modules to various retail environments, and gain hands-on experience in web scraping applications. The workshop concludes with an assessment of participants’ technical outputs and a discussion on how the enhanced APCT can be deployed to strengthen the price data collection framework of Qatar.
