In line with its ongoing efforts to strengthen competition policy in the Arab region, ESCWA is convening the sixth Arab Competition Forum, in collaboration with United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the Competition and Anti-Monopoly Affairs Council in Iraq.
This year’s edition focuses on “Competition Law Enforcement in the Arab Region”, underscoring the need to build stronger institutions, improve investigative capacity, and align enforcement practices with international standards. It provides an opportunity for Arab competition authorities to engage in peer learning, informed by practical studies and insights from global and regional experts. Sessions explore topics such as mergers and acquisitions, market studies, legal standards of proof, and abuse of dominance.
