The Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD) is convening at a critical juncture.
Therefore, this meeting aims to:
- Review progress since the 1995 Copenhagen Declaration, and assess achievements and failures in realizing its three core objectives
- Analyze emerging challenges
- Explore the role of the multilateral system and regional cooperation in enabling just transitions and advancing progressive social policies.
- Develop concrete recommendations that will shape the outputs of the WSSD 2025 and the "Doha Declaration."
The meeting aims to achieve three key outcomes: Creating a policy brief that highlights regional views and priorities to help shape the results of the 2025 WSSD; Fostering deeper regional dialogue on inclusive social development and fair transitions; ensuring that Arab perspectives—from experts and diverse stakeholders—are heard more prominently in the global WSSD discussions.
