ESCWA, the Government of Libya and the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub are convening this national dialogue to launch a shared vision for transforming the food systems in Libya. Building on national policy frameworks, including the National Food Security Strategy 2025–2035, the event aims to align priorities for action.
Government institutions, food producers, civil society, academia and the private sector assess challenges and opportunities across agriculture, water, the environment, health, trade, markets and consumption. The dialogue ensures that the perspectives of smallholder farmers and producers, women, young people and vulnerable groups inform future policy and investment.
Participants identify priority actions, strengthen cross-sector coordination and begin shaping a national vision for resilient, inclusive and sustainable food systems. They contribute to the development of a Food Systems Transformation Framework to guide policy, investment and implementation.
