This is the first session of the webinar series Formalization as a Pathway to SME Growth and Economic Resilience. It draws on recent reform examples to show how Tunisia has used the Startup Act to make formalization more accessible. It also examines how incentive-based policies can help SMEs, particularly startups and youth-led businesses, move into the formal economy, and identifies lessons that could be applied in similar settings and reflects on their wider implications for policy design.
