In Iraq, ESCWA and the Commission of Media and Communication (CMC) organized a national workshop to describe the main concepts of digital government transformation and artificial intelligence technology, present selected international and regional indicators, and discuss best practices in the development of related policies.
Representatives from public institutions involved in the development and implementation of digital policies stressed that developing a digital government transformation strategy is one of the main success factors of enhancing digital services in the country and requires appropriate governance mechanisms to ensure proper implementation of activities and reduce bureaucracy.
The workshop also showcased national related initiatives from CMC and other national agencies.
