ESCWA is organizing a series of national workshops under the project “Bridging the Climate-Food Nexus in Arab Least Developed Countries”, which supports Arab least developed countries in aligning food systems transformation pathways and policies with climate change action. The project provides national-level capacity development, guidelines, institutional coordination support, and regional exchange opportunities, with a particular focus on Mauritania, the Sudan and Yemen. It was officially launched in Amman, Jordan, on 3-4 December 2025 under the title “Climate and Food: Building Resilient Food Systems in Arab LDCs”.
The national workshops are organized by ESCWA in collaboration with national partners and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD). They bring together government officials from food systems, climate, environment, agriculture, water and related sectors, alongside development partners and technical experts, to identify synergies, validate policy and stakeholder mapping, and promote more integrated action across climate and food systems agendas.
