ESCWA, in cooperation with the League of Arab States and member States, is preparing an Arab Roadmap for the Economic Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities for 2027–2045.
The roadmap supports regional action to advance the economic rights of persons with disabilities, promote their inclusion in the labour market, and contribute to the objectives of Arab Vision 2045: Achieving Hope through Thought, Will, and Action.
This special session presents the draft roadmap to members of the Intersessional Group of Experts on Disability and gather their feedback for the second draft. The updated roadmap will be submitted to the seventeenth session of the Committee on Social Development in January 2027 and then to the LAS Council of Arab Ministers for Social Affairs for adoption.
