The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) organized an Expert Group Meeting to launch a Climate/SDG Debt Swap Initiative in the Arab region. The objective of the meeting was to:
- Explore the opportunities of a “Climate/SDGs Debt Swap” initiative for Arab States, its socio-economic consequences, potential challenges and implementation arrangements, from the perspectives of the creditors, debtors and donors.
- Identify potential partners and create a network of strategic stakeholders.
