ESCWA is organizing a high-level meeting with the Ministries of Planning and Economic Development, Finance and International Cooperation in Egypt. The meeting provides a policy platform to pilot the financing intelligence ecosystem of ESCWA in a country-specific context, supporting timely policy decisions and the transition towards evidence-based policymaking across fiscal policy, financial planning, investment decisions, and budget cycles.
The meeting focuses on applying the ecosystem to identify pathways to maximize the development impact of public and private finance, enhance budget efficiency and effectiveness, and integrate data-driven performance tracking into core decision-making processes. It also seeks to operationalize the outcomes of the Sevilla Commitment and support the implementation of the Integrated National Financing Strategy of Egypt through the Framework on Sustainability and Financing for Economic Development. This includes advancing system-wide and sector-level financing diagnostics and roadmaps, supporting budget preparation and medium-term budget frameworks, and exploring priority areas for deeper cooperation.
