The workshop brings together youth and junior negotiators who recently joined the Arab States negotiation teams at the Conference of the Parties (COP), to address and discuss the following topics: the evolution of climate change negotiations, negotiation techniques and strategies, roles and procedures of negotiations under the UNFCCC; negotiation groups and influence, with a focus on the Arab Group's historical position.
The second day of the workshop aims to discuss the outcomes of COP 29, The "Baku Adaptation Roadmap", the United Arab Emirates-Belém work programme on developing indicators for the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA), as well as the current status of Arab countries' Nationally Determined Contributions and Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs), the capacities of Arab countries in dealing with Article 6 and findings of the draft 2024 State of Climate Report for the Arab region and developments on combating extreme events, including sand and dust storms.
