Older persons are among the groups most affected by conflict. Yet their specific needs and rights are often overlooked in humanitarian responses and recovery efforts. The present policy brief, entitled “Conflict and its shockwaves: older persons amid war and displacement in Lebanon”, sheds light on the lived experiences of older persons in the context of war and displacement in Lebanon. It seeks to bring the experiences and concerns of older persons to the forefront, highlighting the importance of understanding the challenges they face from their own perspective. The brief also presents a set of evidence-based policy recommendations to guide governmental and non-governmental actors in their efforts to respond to the needs and priorities of older persons.
