ESCWA is organizing national consultation meetings with selected countries in the Arab region to:
- Assess the availability and quality of data related to solar energy access;
- Exchange knowledge on data collection processes, national experiences, and institutional expertise;
- Identify capacity gaps that need to be addressed to improve data systems.
Participants include government officials and policymakers from national institutions working in the fields of statistics, energy and research.
The outcomes of these meetings are expected to inform subsequent phases of the ESCWA regional initiative on “Improved mapping and monitoring of solar energy access for enhanced climate policy action and socio-economic resilience” in ESCWA member States.
