In the framework of the series of consultation meetings on mapping solar energy access in the Arab region, ESCWA is organizing a national consultation with representatives from the Ministry of Energy in Djibouti. This meeting aims to review and approve the areas in Djibouti identified as having significant solar energy potential, which will be targeted by the project's detection model. The meeting also introduces the objective and expected results of the upcoming regional consultation scheduled to take place in Beirut on 26-27 November 2025, and discusses the planned contributions of Djibouti to this initiative.
Djibouti is considered a key beneficiary of the project, having expressed its interest during the regional workshop on Arab LDCs held by ESCWA in April 2025.
