ESCWA is organizing a regional workshop for United Nations Resident Coordinator Offices in the Arab region on mainstreaming population ageing in United Nations country-level programmes.
The workshop aims to provide participants with an overview of key demographic trends and their impact on sustainable development, present the Fifth Regional Review and Appraisal of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing, facilitate the exchange of experiences on integrating ageing into Common Country Analyses and Cooperation Frameworks, and identify priorities to inform ESCWA support on ageing.
Participants include representatives of Resident Coordinator Offices in the Arab region and relevant United Nations regional offices, agencies and funds, including the United Nations Population Fund, the World Bank, the International Labour Organization and the World Health Organization.
